Ruby Yacht

Founded by rapper and producer R.A.P. Ferreira, Ruby Yacht has become an exciting beacon in the American alternative hip-hop scene, displaying diversity of genre and an uncompromising DIY ethos.

As one of the champions of smart indie underground hip-hop for over a decade, and leader of the almighty Ruby Yacht crew, R.A.P. Ferreira has firmly established himself as one of one… never to be duplicated, or replaced.

Moor Mother is a Philadelphia-based artist, musician and activist who utilizes her multi-genre practice to speak to consciousness, identity, blackness and the sociopolitical global landscape.

A revered producer in L.A.’s perennially fertile independent rap scene, Kenny Segal has worked as a television composer since the early-aughts, crafting everything from hip-hop beats to rock songs for companies like Hewlett-Packard and Farmers Insurance (he sang on the “We are Farmers” jingle). His stature rising in the L.A. underground, Segal co-founded On Point Records in 1998 as a member of his drum'n'bass collective the Helium Crew, and became a regular staple in the Konkrete Jungle club nights in the city. In those electronic dance circles, Segal first crossed paths with Freestyle Fellowship’s MC P.E.A.C.E. at L.A.'s Spaceland club circa 1999.

MC Psalm One, born Cristalle Bowen, was raised in Englewood. After receiving a scholarship to study chemistry at UIC, Bowen earned her degree and began working professionally as a chemist before self-releasing her first hip-hop album, Bio:Chemistry. By her third album, Death of a Frequently Flyer, she was signed on to the legendary Minneopolis-based hip-hop label Rhymesayers Entertainment.

Setting his foundation from classical music to A Tribe Called Quest, Japanese producer Fumitake Tamura built his signature sound based on the art of sampling. Since his debut album in 2012, he has steadily made a name for himself as an auteur in the underground Hip Hop scene, both locally and in the West.

Randal Bravery is a solo artist who experiments with trip hop and downtempo-type samples under his lushly amplified vocals. He has been performing in this project for about six years, beginning with mostly DJ work and live beat-making.

Human Error Club is an experimental 3-piece that bridges between cosmic nu-jazz and eclectic live beat making, fronted by Diego Gaeta, a breaking young pianist known for his psychedelic performances and textural sonic experiences.
